The Fisic Geography
This branch focussed in geography as geography, used biology to understand the pattern of the flora and the global fauna, and mathematics and physics to understand the movement of the earth and his relations with the other solar system member. Including also inside the surface of the earth ecology and environmental geography.
The Human Geography
The branch of human geography, or politics/the culture - also was mentioned antropogeografi that the focus as social science, the physical aspect that caused the phenomenon of the world. Studied how humankind adapted to his territory and other humankind, and in the macroscopic transformation how humankind played a role in the world. Could be divided to: economic geography, political geography (including geopolitics), social geography (including city geography), feminism geography and military geography.
Geography Humankind-Environment
For the period of environmental determinism, geography not was knowledge about scope relations, but about how humankind and his environment. although understanding of environmental determinism has been did not develop, still had the strong tradition among geografer to study relations between humankind naturally. Gotten two fields in geography humankind-environment: the cultural ecology and politics dam the research risk-disaster.
Planning and the Development Zone
The branch of this Geography was the relatively new branch. Developed in around the 1980 's by Geografiwan Europe, especially from Nederland. When the University co-operation was between the two countries carried out, several Geography experts from the Netherlands took part in as well as in the program of the lecturer's transplant in UGM. Hasilnya being the birth of the study program just was named the Studi Program of Pengembangan Planning of the Territory. Before standing to special discipline that combined Geografi Knowledge with Perencanaan Wilayah Knowledge, this project was known by the name of Rural and Regional Development Planning (RRDP).
